Bulldogs Conduct Light Practice Despite Weather


SC State Football Practice Brief





ORANGEBURG, SC – South Carolina State had a light workout Wednesday inside Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center due to the inclement of bad weather.
“Well we tried to do what we could in this type of situation,” said SCSU Coach Buddy Pough. “It was mostly a walk through practice for us do to the weather, but it gave us a chance to evaluate some things.”
“Even though it was a light workout,” he continued, “It gave our new guys a chance to get familiar with assignments and it turned out to be a pretty good practice.”
The Bulldogs devoted most of Wednesday working on special team drills, wrapping up the afternoon session focusing on offensive and defensive schemes.
SC State will resume practice on Thursday full gear in a 3:10 afternoon session.

BULLDOG NOTE: An NCAA campus film crew paid a visit to SC State’s early morning practice to document Bulldog senior running back Will Ford in a feature story. Ford one of the top running backs in the nation and among the elite runners on the prestigious Payton Watch List, from which the top offensive player in the nation will choose.
The 30-minute NCAA on Campus show, which highlights NCAA student-athletes and competitions, will air Tuesday, Sept. 2, at 9 p.m. on CBS College Sports and be rebroadcast each Tuesday in Sept. at the same time. CBS College Sports is an HD cable network on Ch. 150 on Time Warner Cable, Ch. 152 on Dish and Ch. 613 on Direct TV.
